Gee-Dee's Family Cabins at Karumba Point offer affordable family-style, couple or fisherperson accommodation on the Gulf of Carpentaria at the mouth of the Norman River.
Your stay will be in family owned and operated, motel-like cabins, or a three bedroom holiday house, that offers you the latest in modern, clean, air conditioned rooms. Your hosts Sharon and Jeff are able to offer local advice and assistance to make your stay at Karumba an enjoyable one.
The waters of Karumba contain a variety of marine life. You can fish from the beach or from a boat at any time. Gee-Dee's have four 4.4 metre aluminium boats with 25 horsepower motors for hire. In addition there is a 4.55 metre Poly Craft with a 40 horsepower motor and large self-drive barbecue boat, all of which require a boat licence. All boats are supplied with ice, esky, fuel, cushions and canopy. Boats are launched and retrieved at the nearby boat ramp at the entrance to the Norman River.
The whole mood is relaxed as travellers, fishermen, birdwatchers and locals gather in the late afternoon to enjoy the "million dollar sunset" across the Gulf of Carpentaria.
