Address: Wangi Falls Road, Litchfield National Park, via, Batchelor NT 845
The Wangi Falls Walk is a two-day 18.5-kilometre bushwalk that is part of the Tabletop Track. It takes you from the ever-popular Wangi Falls to Walker Creek in Litchfield National Park, 120 kilometres from Darwin. Pause along this section of the track to take in the views of the stunning escarpment country. The landscape's rocky outcrops and ridges offer plenty of opportunities to see local wildlife, and provide a haven for northern quolls, wallabies, frogs and lizards. There is abundant birdlife to spot - look out for colourful red-winged parrots, double-bar finches, or kingfishers. From the escarpment the path traverses open woodland and crosses creeks lined with pandanus. Overnight at the bush campsite located at Tjenya Falls. The walk is graded as difficult, so a good level of fitness is required. An easier return walk of 1.5 kilometres is also available starting at Wangi Plunge Pool - climb to the top of the escarpment for a great view, and then wander back down to the base of the falls for a picnic or a swim. Camping fees apply within Litchfield National Park. Contact Park Headquarters at Batchelor for a map and permit information.
