The Julimar Date Garden is a small date growing enterprise, situated on the southern edge of the Julimar State Forest and only a short drive from the picturesque historical town of Toodyay.
Commercial date growing in Australia is literally in its embryonic stage and they offer five varieties of dates, most of which have never been previously available in Australia. They have been producing fruit since 2016 and have already achieved agricultural history in Western Australia. Their dates are fresh and of the highest quality and when in season, have been very popular especially with the local Iraqi population.
Owing to the tremendous interest that has been generated, plans are in play to develop the property further with a view to the tourism industry. The Toodyay Shire have shown their support with their development plans, as have the local tourist industry.
They are foundational participants in the Toodyay Food and Picnic Trail and have already formed strong bonds, in promotional and idea sharing. In keeping with the genre of dates and date palms, they are also planning to add camels into the mix for rides and photo opportunities.
The Julimar Date Garden is a very unique tourist destination.
