Hand of the Composer considers how we construct and compose our own identity. In sculpture and collage, Leech playfully explores the concept that we have become the means of our own production. Now so reliant on our tools and possessions that we have become transformed.
Hand of the Composer transforms the mailbox space into a miniature museum; a fictional archive of possible human evolution and ambiguous time. From within, masked, hand carved wooden puppets with empty eye-sockets gaze at a series of collages in which the body and machine fuse to propose of a new definition of being.
